Through the Slipstream

"Why do you go there?"
She paused, dragged her gaze from the horizon towards me and smiled, "Go where?"
There was sadness in her smile but I could see a glint of hope in her eyes.
"There..." I inclined my head, pointing nowhere in particular.
I didn't need to. She already knew.
Her smile widened -more genuine.
"Why do you ask when you already know?"

I Miss Them, LOL

What do you think this 3 videos have in common?

I'm sure your guesses are right. Whatever they are.

Can you tell how much of a Harry Potter fan I am? haha!

I was actually waiting for Dan to make an appearance in a music video after Rupert did Lego House. And last night, I finally got what I was waiting for. Thank you Boleynboy! (Go check his music blog now!)

Now, if only Tom(Felton) would appear in one too. Or has he already? Hmmm...

 Anyways, enjoy!

Two Things

I've got two new things to share to you guys tonight. They may not be exactly that big of a deal but nonetheless, I want to share it!

So...

Firstly, I decided to change my "visual diary" into a photo blog. I found this cool site called, Jux. Have you guys heard about it? Well, it gave me a lot more options on how I can present random photographs that I've taken -in hi-res and all of that. It's so easy to use. Plus, browsing through the other blogs can be pretty inspiring!

And lastly, after thinking for a good couple of days, I've finally put up a music blog. But I didn't want it to be just another music blog. I wanted to add something different -something more personal. So I decided to post songs that I want you to listen. If you don't get it then that song is not meant for you

I'm not sure if you're getting my idea, but whatevs! haha!

Well, if you have the time, please do check them out:

or
You can visit them thru this blog of mine. Just click on MUSIKAVENUE and SNAPSHOTS from the links bar above.

Enjoy!

12:54 AM

Let me start of by telling you that this is the fifth revision I made for this post.

I can't seem to gather my thoughts and tell you everything that has happened from the last time I've shared. I can't seem to find the words. At least for now.

So let me just leave you with a song that has been my constant companion for most of the nights now. And the lines with which my mind -more or less- is pondering.

Though I'm not really sure you would understand why, a great part of me hopes that somehow you would.

Am I caught in the background, a part of the scene?
Misery in the come down, when I come down from here.
Are we tangled in each other, or placed in between?
Like a stone, or a stones throw away from falling
Am I just scant in the landscape,
Or a range close to you?
I think I fell into a strange play with wandering limbs
And eager hands

I'm a penny in a diamond mine
we could be movers
we could be shakers
if we could just shake something out of the blue
and get off the ride

3 Artists 1 Song

Question. What happens when you put 3 talented artists to collaborate on 1 song? Answer. You get an eargasm like no other. And I think that's what Converse wants to happen.

Though this isn't a new concept at all, but I think that Converse will be bringing in some sick collaborations for this project. And the best part of it all... it's for free.

Check out the artists and the songs they collaborated on.

I'm a Goner - Matt and Kim ft. Soulja Boy and Andrew W.K.

Do Ya Thing - Gorillaz ft. Andre 3000 and James Murphy (LCD Soundsystem)

All Summer - Kid Cudi ft. Best Coast and Rostam Batmanglij (Vampire Weekend)

Warrior - Kimbra ft. A-Trak and Mark Foster (Foster The People)

Well I'm having an eargasm here. What about you? :)

xo,

Check out Converse for more info and more of the collaborations.

Lady Daydream

Some of my friends have been asking me why I don't post "outfit shots" in my blog or why I don't have a lookbook account. Well, I can think of plenty of answers for them but to be honest, it just boils down to one thing -my laziness.

Yeah yeah I know -I suck. I could barely update my blog let alone take photographs of my look so bite me! Haha!

But since I promise to be more active this year, I realize that taking some outfit shots -take note of the word some- doesn't sound so bad at all. So here I am, with my first and hopefully not the last outfit post for 2012.

~o~

Vintage was definitely what I was going for last Sunday.

Inspired by Twin Sister's song Lady Daydream, I wore a red knitted sweater and a knee length polka-dotted box pleated skirt cinched in the waist by a blue belt.

And though you can't actually see it, my shoes are the color inspiration behind this look: red, blue and black.

Now, I leave you with this sweet melancholic song to enjoy.

An Insomniac Exchange

Music had always been my best companion during sleepless nights. We practically bonded the entire week, from night to morning. Yes, you read it right -night to morning because insomnia only let me slept at around 5am the WHOLE FREAKING WEEK.

Anyways, a couple of hours ago, after I got back from X and went online, I posted a Facebook status that says, Sound trippin' the whole night. I felt that I wasn't gonna be able to get some sleep again so I knew that was probably what I was gonna be doing the whole night.

A friend of mine, Gino, liked the status that started a conversation between the 2 of us on my post. The thread was basically us exchanging songs from our libraries. And we actually came up with a cool playlist! I guess he wouldn't mind me sharing it to you guys. Here's a screen cap of our conversation.

Here's the song list!

Love - Globetroddas
Frequency - Technicolor Fabrics

Control - SiddarthaWhat You Know - Two Door Cinema Club

Backfire at the Disco - The Wombats
Fluorescent Adolescent - Arctic Monkeys

Let's Go Surfing - The Drums
Love Lost - The Temper Trap
Black and Blue - Mike Snow
Say You Don't Want It - One Night Only

Undertow - Warpaint
Mild Confusion - TAMYARN

Juaning Blues

Do you know the feeling of wanting to work with all the projects you have on your hands, and yet couldn't no matter how much creativity you have swimming in your mind? Well, I'm sure you have felt exactly the same thing at some point. And I'll make a guess. One of the factors involves the weather. Am I right? Haha!

Anyways, today was that kind of day for me -and maybe for a few more people. The weather? Rainy. Actually, we have a storm in the Philippines right now called, Juaning. But still, it's the kind that you just want to snuggle up in bed or on the couch embraced by a warm blanket, hot choco steaming in your favorite cup, probably watching your favorite rainy day movie/series or reading a book whilst an awesome playlist is on. It's that kind of weather we're having as of the current. And it's making it more difficult to work on this simple teaser video I have due before the weekends.

And as weak as I am when it comes to lazy weathers, I ended doing completely unrelated to what I need to be doing. In the end, I ended up making my first ever mixtape. I think a pat on the back is in place even if it's not really work related.

I've always wanted to create one. And now it's here and I want to share it with all of you. I only placed 12 songs just because I love the number 12 and that too much files would make it hard to upload and to download. Also created an album art just cause I'm feeling the rush. Haha! Hope you enjoy it!

Juaning Blues
Bonfire - Memoryhouse
Islands - The XX
Gone For The Summer - Teen Daze
Collapsing At Your DoorStep - Air France
Bicycle - Memory Tapes
Knocked Up (Remix) - Kings of Leon & Lykke Li
Daydream - Beach Fossils
Starting - matt pond PA
Solitude Is Bliss - Tame Impala
Sunny Day - BRONZE
Daddy's Gone - Glassvegas
Light Out - Santigold

Round Up: PFW Holiday 2011 LSS

So here's a round up of some of the songs from Philippine Fashion Week Holiday 2011 that got us all pumped up during this season. Some of them even got us all singing even after the week itself!

Not in any particular order...

1. "I've Got Your Number" - Passion Pit
Well, if you were at the L'Oreal Launch then you'd probably heard this song. Unfortunately for me I wasn't there. But fortunately, my mama shared this song to us after we got back from a fitting earlier that day.

2. "Beautiful" - Patrick Nuo
Ever since I heard this song that faithful early morning during the For Me rehearsals, I can't help but remember the very colorful Direk Raymond strutting his stuff down the runway. He was perfect for the show. And so was this song!

3. "Go Outside" - Cults
Okay. So this song wasn't used in any runway shows or from the afterpartys but this was one of the songs that got stuck on me during fashion week itself. The tune haunted me for a day because I couldn't seem to remember the title, thus making it hard for me to find it in my itunes -to the point of asking one of my interns if she knew the tune. Later that night, I typed in the words "Emma Roberts, music video, outside" in youtube and, lo and behold, I found it.

Sorry, I can't seem to find the real music video where Emma Roberts and Dave Franco were featured.

4. "Hello" - Martin Solveig & Dragonette
It was during the Oxygen Afterparty when The Misshapes played this song, and we started partying like there was no 7am calltime the next day. Ever since then, we all got hooked to this song. It was our afterparty theme song 'cause it was also played during the L'Oreal afterparty.

5. "Charmer" - Kings of Leon
There's always that one song that you play over and over again just because it makes you all charged up in whatever you do. And for me, this was the song during fashion week. I'd play it every single morning for a couple of times just so I'd stay awake the whole time. The screeching was perfect for waking me up while the bass lines keeps me on the charging up mode.

6. "She A Model" - YG
I guess this was the first song I got hooked on since last season up to now. If you've seen the CalCarrie's commercial, then you'd probably know what I mean when I say: it's addicting. "Bomp bomp bomp bomp... She a model. She walk in runways..." was what everyone was singing by the end of the week and even after the week itself. Let me post the original song and the link to the CalCarrie's commercial. (For more info about CalCarrie's Philippines, like us on Facebook!)

7. "Party Rock Anthem" - LMFAO
This song was anything but perfect as we celebrated the success of Holiday 2011 that Sunday night.

8."Rolling in the Deep" - Adele
Remixed, original, cover, live... we heard it all. Who could ever forget about this song? This is like the ultimate LSS song for everyone -and I mean, everyone who went to fashion week last May. I am also proud to say that a lot of people have became fans of this song as well as the artist because of this song.

Well, there you go guys! Just some of the songs that helped me out -and others- during fashion week. Y'all enjoy listening to them! xMafia

We Are The Voice Of Breaking Down

Switchfoot came back here in Manila and held a concert last Saturday at the PhilSports Arena. If there's any band I wouldn't miss, it's them, although I had a lot of second thoughts of going cause I had a lot of things in hand. Thankfully, I decided to go.

IMAGO is back! And they fronted for Switchfoot.

So we were at the ringside side (Thank God for PR skills). And it was the semi-perfect place because...

...when they sang "We Are One Tonight", Jon went/climbed up at our side!!! Obviously, super fan mode. I jumped from seat to seat so I could be near him. So unbecoming, I know. HAHAHA

Pardon the crazy video especially at the last part because I went haywire when I actually touched his hair. And so did my brother, who got to squeeze his shoulder, and my nephew, who got to pat his back. I even have wounds for proof. HAHAHAHAHA

Aaaaahhh, the music, the band and the people... EPIC.

Will post videos as soon as I have the right amount of time. And now I leave you with a portion of one of my fave Switchfoot song, "Yet".

If it doesn't break your heart
It isn't love
If it doesn't break your heart
It's not enough
It's when you're breaking down
With your insides coming out
That's when you find out what your heart is made of.

6 Days From Now...

...Coachella will begin. And on those days, my head will be filled with these...

It has everything that I love all packed in a 3-day event: fashion, music, etc... But of course, Coachella is about the music. And this year's line up is love. That's all I'm gonna say. LOVE.

I especially love Kings of Leon. Hahaha..

Someday, I will be there. Someday soon. I hope.

And now, I leave you guys with Brooke Fraser's Coachella. What else?!

I am bright as the sun
You are high as a kite
We are daughters, sons, brothers and sisters tonight
At Coachella
