Annuale Show

I am finally seeing that light at the end of the tunnel. One more week after Holy Week, then I am officially done for this term. Things have been pretty busy considering I've only gotten back in school this term. I definitely didn't expect that -but oh well. It was bound to happen sooner or later.

Now, just to say that I wasn't all work -or study, in this case- I got to be part of my school's event called Annuale. It's this annual event where SDA students get to showcase their talents in any field (i.e graphic design, fashion design, animation, etc). I didn't exactly take part as a designer since I haven't taken the needed subjects for this but I got to model my friend's design.

Let me congratulate not just Adie -who totally made the designs I wore on her own- but to every designer, performer, etc who was part of it. They really blew my mind away with their designs, performance and dedication for this show. If ever I do get to be part of this event in the near future as a designer, I hope I could blow people's minds away too. Haha!

Btw, the time era for the fashion show was 1911 and 2011.

Thank you to my friend, Jeruel, who came to watch and took these cray photos. I shall be posting the shoot I did for his portfolio soon. Cause that's another story to tell. Chos!

Friday the 13th

It is quite a practice to distort reality if one can no longer find the purpose of beauty in its most banal form.

Say: a perfectly contoured face driven by platitude can break itself into disheveled pieces yet remain crafted. Or a failure of flight can bring a pair of feet to leave its owner and rightfully place itself in between a cushion of clouds.

In this Untitled exhibition, you may find yourself stepping back, tilting your head or even closing an eye to fall in love with what is in front of you. Indulge. Let this alteration of what is real bring you a new sense of order and perhaps, a rekindling with what you used to deem as beautiful.

Here are some photos of what went down last Friday the 13th during Brad's photo exhibit opening at Cubao X.

FaDAL Manila X Miadore X Seven Barretto

After the Grand Marnier event (see post here) earlier that night, me and Jason went to the FaDAL Manila X Miadore X Seven Barretto party at 7th High.

Being the worse blogger in the world, I only took a few pictures -most of which are blurs. I am the worst. I know. So I'd rather not post them here.

With one of my besties, Jason Ong
But it was a fun night with friends and colleagues in the industry!
And I promise that I won't be lazy to take good pictures to post here.

130th Anniversary of Grand Marnier at Scarlet's

So last Wednesday, June 29, one of my best guy friends/ fellow blogger, Jason Ong, invited me to the 130th Anniversary of Grand Marnier at Scarlet Wine Lounge in The Fort.

Along with other fellow bloggers, we got the chance to chat with the Grand Marnier Ambassador, Julien Lafond, before we all divulged on the scrumptious food they served to us, and finished our wonderfully mixed cocktails.

I just love the interior of Scarlet. It kinda gives me that very cozy and sophisticated vibe. And check out the wine vending machine at the center. I want one. Chos!

This is the 2009 limited edition Grand Marnier bottle. For their 2010 limited edition, the bottle is black. And every Grand Marnier bottle is different from one another. So you are sure that you only have that bottle in the entire world!
Check out the glowing stirrer in our drinks!

Thank you Scarlet and Grand Marnier for that night!

Scarlet Wine Lounge can be found at The Fort Strip near Amber Lounge and Encore.
You can purchase Grand Marnier in any supermarket or liquor store in the metro.

SCMI 27th Anniversary at Bataan

I haven't been to church for a while now. I know it's not a good reason to say that I'm always busy with school or work or with other stuffs and just opted to stay at home on a Sunday. So, I told myself that I would be there on our church's 27th anniversary to be held at our church in Bataan. So even with lack of sleep (I had a long Saturday because of work), I still went. And I felt blessed. I'm glad I went.

I miss these crazy kids.

STATUS Fashion Show

So last February 11, 2011 was my first ever somewhat-directing gig for a fashion show. One of my dear high school friends who's studying in UST asked me if I could help him out with a fashion show he was organizing along with his org. Thanks Jason for the chance! Hehe. Along with the UST Community Achievers Association, we worked on this fashion show for months -just for a one night event showcasing 15 of the most amazing and talented Filipino designers:

Alodia Cecilia            Arnold Galang
Dave Ocampo         Eddie Castro
Edwin Uy                 Gerswin Qua
Gil Macaibay           Jackie Abueg
Jian Lasala               John Guarnes
Joyce Pilarsky        Lizanne Cua
Stephanie Tan      Ulysses King
Yako Reyes

(Here are just some of the designs modeled by UST students; last image is of supermodel, Irish Ong)

Stressful would be an understatement to describe the whole day. I think all of my friends who have experienced the behind the scenes of a fashion show would agree with me on this one. But of course, at the end of the day, all that matters is what you have gained from all that has happened -which is experience and new friends, for me. Haha!
