Huge fan of BJ Pascual and Patrick Galang. I had a privilege of wirnessing BJ live in action once. And I was just amaze beyond words. All of his photographs are just to die for. Pardon my exaggeration. But it's true. There's always that drama in it. And I'm a sucker for those kinds of things.

Up North Experience

Over the weekends, I went to my History of Art and Design fieldtrip in Ilocos. For those who don't know where that is, it's basically the farthest north that's still attached to the main island. Haha. But it's not my first time to go there. And the only ones I know on that trip were Karen and Chris, Denise and Patty. (I also got lazy taking pictures. If it wasn't for the requirements and stuff, I wouldn't have my camera with me.) So I wasn't really that super excited.

What made the trip memorable were the people I got to become friends with in that short amount of time.  Room 25. That was THE room. And the people who were originally staying there, hanged there, crashed there, etc... that made it one heck of a weekend.

first ones in, last ones out (karen, chris, ken, me)

so my house is near this place? LOL
we just love that red bricked wall

one of the coolest couples I met!

Seriously asking for an Ilocos part 2, minus the morning tours.

The Kid with Man Head

His name is Josh. He's a friend. But we have never seen each other yet. We've been on a lot of events but never had a chance to personally meet. Or if we ever did, I may have not notice. I am so sorry Josh. Haha.

Anyways, the blog title for this post is actually the name of his blog. His blog is all about fashion and being fab! Just recently, he started posting his "Stylista" entries. It's basically him posting some of Manila's stylish people -not necessarily well known ones but has some great styles. And guess who he featured????

Yes, it is moi. And what an honor it is. Thank you so much Josh.

I don't really consider myself as a super stylish person. I only wear whatever feel like wearing. And if people appreciate what they see, I guess I'm doing an okay job. Hahaha. Click this to see post.

Oh btw, the first picture and the last one aren't me. That's a good friend of mine who I styled during a shoot. But that is my style. And most of the garments I used were mine. Hahahaha...

Thank you again Josh! Do check his blog out! The Kid with Man Head

Behind the Scenes: The A-Team

me, ate anlen, paolo (and all our stuffs not staffs haha)
Also known as The Autis(tic) Team. This group consists of me, my cousin Paolo, and our dear ate, Anlen Condat. We've been teaming up for our church's visual committee ever since that faithful day 2 years ago during our church's 25th Anniversary (or even way before that). But that was the time when we all kind of bonded and became really close. I've worked with them in a lot of projects mostly in church but we all helped out in oustide projects as well.

I haven't been that much active in our church's visual arts committee for a while now and so I was quite excited when I was given the chance to work with them again for this pre-nuptial shoot last Sunday for our church friends who are going to get married soon. Like really soon. Haha.

It wasnt really a bonggacious production. We had no lights, fancy styling... just our imagination, cameras and of course, the couple. We originally thought of doing it in UP Diliman since garden/grassy was our peg. But at the last minute decided to do it in UST instead. It was nearer and had more history. Plus it was the groom's alma mater.

It was my first ever prenup shoot. And to describe the whole afternoon in one sentence, this would be it: There was a lot of walking and a lot of laughing.

Here are some of the behind the scenes.

paolo smizing

I was wearing shades the whole day cause I was bangag from last night.

I'll ask if I can post the final products after the wedding. :)

P.S

Do check their works online too. They're very talented artists.
Anlen Condat and Paolo (who's website is under construction for now) Will get link soon! Hahahaha

Take A Bite

For this season, leopards are in. Yes, leopard prints are back and hotter than ever. Just take a good look at Preview's March Cover models Borgy Manotoc and Georgina Wilson barely covered by this season's must have accessories.

I'm sure you're all dying to take home some of these lovely items cause I sure am.

And for all those bag-a-holics out there, prepare yourselves this coming April. A new brand is coming into town with its first collection taking its cue from this season's must have. Let us all welcome DESPERATE FOR BAGS.

What an honor it was to see just a preview of its first collection called Lust For Leo, and I was immediately blown away. Unfortunately, I can't post the pics yet. But as a bag-a-holic myself, I can gurantee you guys its awesomeness. Hehehe. I'll post the pictures as soon as possible.

Maker and creator of Desperate for Bags, Kathreena Poon (also a very dear friend of mine), is even giving away one of her bags from the first ever collection to one of her lucky followers. So go to Flights of My Suitcase and follow her blog now!!!

Round Up: I Like Them Girls

I was suppose to do a weekend round up of the things I've been obsessing over for the last week but ended up postponing it due to a sudden fun filled weekend courtesy of friends and some alcohol. So I would like to apologize for this late post. :)

Alright, let us begin.

MUSIC: Last week was a bit of a downer during the weekday. I -and so was most of the population of Benilde- were swamped with school works. I had to cram a midterm project and an assignment for my History of Art and Design class. Late nights and early mornings were my trend last week. And to cope for those late nights, I had to have music. And one of the songs that was on loop was Flight Facilities' Crave You featuring Giselle.

I first heard this song on the hit UK show Skins, and totally fell in love with it. It has that hypnotic vibe that you could just get lost into.

NEWS: I guess most of you have already heard about Lancôme's newest Endorser, EMMA WATSON -my girl crush.

Spotted in Paris for Lancome (photo from INF Daily)
"Get ready for some beauty magic: Emma Watson is the newest face of Lancôme. The Harry Potter star, 20, announced the news via Twitter Monday morning after leading followers through a series of clues over the weekend. “Thanks to her charm, romanticism and her incredible modernity, Emma Watson has become the icon of her generation,” Lancôme president Youcef Nabi said in a statement. “We are delighted by the new collaboration with Emma, who brings a fresh spirit to Lancôme.” Watson follows in the footsteps of such pretty women as Julia Roberts, Penélope Cruz, Kate Winslet and Anne Hathaway, and is the brand’s youngest ambassador to date. The partnership comes at a good time: Watson recently shared that she’s taking a break from her studies at Brown University to focus on her “other professional and acting projects. I will still be working towards my degree … it’s just going to take me a semester or two longer than I thought.” " (source: People Magazine; Photo)

VIDEO:  I immediately thought that this video is too cute not to share. I wish we could do something like this during Philippine Fashion Week this coming May. What do you guys think?

"models.com and Justin Wu take you on a whirlwind tour of fashion week in Milan and Paris, from castings to backstage, the shows and the models off-duty, lip-synched to the classic fave of ‘Can’t Take My Eyes off of You’!"(source)

Wondering about my blog title? Well, it's very simple really. We have Giselle, Emma Watson and some of the most beautiful girl models on this first ever ROUND UP post. :)

Blog Lovin'

So, I gave in. Once again -to the blogging bandwagon.

It has been a while since I had this much energy to write. And I am so excited to be back on this platform for the nth time. I don't want to promise anything. I'm just gonna enjoy what is at present.

Just a heads up, this blog is not limited to one particular aspect of my life (i.e. fashion), but a concoction of what I'm obsessing over/about at the moment. So cheers to blogging! And to all of you who are crazy enough to stop in your busy schedules to read my blog. I love you all.

Playing Footsies

No, this entry isn't about flirting or anything related in that subject for that matter. I just thought it sounded witty. Hahaha.

Two things consist in this entry: skateboard and dance.

Taken last Friday after I got back from dinner with JR at Charlie's in Ronac Art Center (it's an awesome place to chill and the food is awesome as well), I chanced upon that rare night where Patrick (brother) and Miko (cousin) had time for their first love, skateboarding. They have this on and off thing with skateboarding since elementary days. I didn't have anything with me that night except for my Nokia C3. What started out as me just getting a footage of  my cousin's funny dance (see the part where he kinda does this arm waving gesture), suddenly became a whole new other thing.

Lastly, I finally found my ballet shoes this morning after I was able to finish reading a book Tabloid Love by Bridget Harrison in one sitting. And after a very long time, I felt the right kind of soreness in my legs again. My love affair with dancing has returned.

warming up for sunrise

Oh Brother!

Meet my brother, Patrick.

From plain T-shirts and baggy shorts to something much better... I am proud to say that my brother has finally found the light towards being more fashionable. Haha. He has come a long way from the just-grab-anything-from-the-closet look to a more thought of outfit for the day. I thought this time wouldn't come.

I just realized how we somewhat like monochromatic colors. Hahaha

The 2012 Thinking

source: http://www.buzzfeed.com/mjs538/the-most-incredible-pictures-of-the-japan-earthqua

Certain events have happened that got a lot of us thinking: "Is the world about to end on 2012?". Certain events that frightened us and made us all aware how fragile life is in general.

We all know what had just recently transpired in Japan. The massive 8.9 magnitude earthquake and tsunami that left one of the world's great nations in a chaotic state. We all have tweeted and retweeted messages of encouragements, news updates and opinions towards this tragedy. We all have watched, listened and read news about this -as Pres. Obama had stated- "simply a heartbreaking thing". And we all worry and wonder what would happen next.

For the last 24 hours or so since this happened, I looked through blogs, sites, tweets, facebook statuses, message threads, etc and noticed a common theme, the 2012 thinking. The 2012 thinking is basically believing that life as we know it would end on this year. And that these certain tragedies that the world is experiencing right now is due to the fact that we have only but a couple of months away from the apocalypse.

Now, I am not one to argue about such things. I don't even understand what is happening to our world really or what all this 2012 stuffs are all about. I tried researching how this all came to be but still couldn"t understand it. But here's what I am sure of. Our life is not ours. We all borrowed it and we all have to return it some day. I don't know when that is -I don't know if anyone does- but sooner or later, we have to give it back. That's what I believe in.

It really is heartbreaking to see what is happening right now in our world. I am frightened beyond words that any time at any place, something as horrible or even as worse -I hope to God that it doesn't- could happen. So we must prepare ourselves. And pray our hardest.

My heart and prayers goes out to everyone -most specially to Japan.

Bed Sore

Since I had all the time in the world for a couple of days now being in bed rest and all that, I decided to work on my Freehand Midterm plate. I had to draw exactly the image that our professor had given, complete with the right measurements of everything even the shadowing.

Now, I'm not really good in drawing. You guys should see my figure sketches. They are really awful. And I'm also lazy as hell. So working on this plate -and actually doing an okay job based on the people I've asked- means a lot to me.

And I just realized how much work I actually did over the course of my bed rest. It's actually more than the amount of work I do when I'm not sick. Weird. Haha. Hopefully, once I get my full energy (and appetite) back, I get to stop being a lazy ass and start working on some of the things I need to do this year.

So What Print Is This?

Let me just say that this is my first ever post about my outfit. I was never into that whole lookbook thing unless its just me looking at others' post (LOL). So what led me to this change of heart? Well, it's because of this skirt. This skirt that I bought at a thrift store for only 50 pesos. Yes, you read it right. FIFTY PESOS. I love finds like this. Who doesn't right?

I always love a vintage twist to any ensemble. And this maxi skirt gives just that. I paired it with an oversized tank top to give it my grunge-rock twist to it. But of course, I can't possibly wear that to school, having a dress code and all that. So I added this Calvin Klein maong vest previously owned by my dad. But I didn't took a picture of that. Just because. Haha.

And lastly, here are some other things that kept me busy the entire day:
  • sketch book for my freehand midterm plate
  • design sketches
  • latest issue of Cosmopolitan Magazine
  • lecture notes for review
  • my organizer
  • cellphone
